BRS 1

The first set of BRS questions were passed on today.  Questions were framed by the 10th grade teacher - do as much as you can. Feel free to reach out to me, if you have any doubts while answering them.  I do not have the questions with me, so include them along with your queries, if any.

Listen - I do not want to see one word answers for those questions.

Turn them in by Oct 16th.

Final exam on May 2

And finally, we made it through the year!!

All of you turned in all those BRS answers that were due - good job. We will have the finalized BRS grades posted next week.  You returned your text books so that we could replenish our text book supply.  All of you had smiles on your face and that met the required criteria to enter the exam hall.

We started off our class with revision.  I asked you for the set of questions that you anticipated to be on the test.  You were right 100%.  I am extremely happy to note that you knew (all) those questions beforehand.  The prayer was the only additional question that you did not mention. I had to ask you one prayer as part of Sunday school teachers' meeting, and you all did well.

I glanced through your answer sheets and all of you seem to have done beyond being well.  Have read all your answers, but not graded them yet.  I was having a bad headache after returning from church and hence could not do much on grading.  Will have your answers graded pretty soon.  Check back later for some sort of updates.

Meanwhile, I checked the grades you gave me.  According to your grading, I scored an average of 99.33 out of 100.  Thank you for being honest with your evaluations.  The biggest advantage you listed was not 'reading from the textbooks' and instead providing lectures. Almost all of you mentioned that you liked all those stories that you heard which were related to our lectures.  Some of you mentioned that this blog has become part of your daily online life.  There were other good things listed as strengths, but let me cut short.  When asked for any improvements, one area you suggested is not to have long lectures (not to continue lecture after the bell rings).

It was nice to have you in my class and we got to know each other.  Next time you meet me in the corridor, do not hesitate to say hello; feel free to swing by - just like how your seniors do so occasionally.

Wish you a great future and may you enjoy and experience the blessings and love from our God.

Final Exam - May 2nd

We are going to have our final exams on May 2nd.

Here is your checklist for exam preparation.  You will be allowed to enter the exam hall if you have the following items:

1.  A pencil or pen to write the exam (paper will be provided to you),

2.  Those BRS answers you have to turn in,

3.  The textbook that you borrowed,

4.  A smile on your face.

The list should enable you to prepare early on, and to search for that text book which is probably elsewhere in the house or in the glove compartment of your dad's car.

I do not want you to cram for the final exam at all.  Reading the textbook is encouraged, but most of the questions on the test will be from our classroom discussions.  I am quite sure that you know those answers. Those answers are in your head, and you just have to recall your memory.  In case you do not understand a question, you may ask me; not your colleague sitting next to you.

Have a good night sleep, and walk right in with your brain and those 4 items mentioned above :-)

For some reason if you do not have a ride on that day, or fall sick, do let me know in advance so that I can make alternate arrangements.

There may or may not be any snacks that day, after church.  It will be a good idea to pack a sandwich, and eat it in your car prior to the exam, so that your brain works best during exam.

Call me if you have any questions or concerns and I will be more than willing to assist you.

See you on Sunday.

Plans for Mar 14

For tomorrow's class, I am preparing to go over Orthodoxy with you.  Let's plan on meeting in our class and later we shall proceed to the Sanctuary to look at the symbols in there. A new addition inside the sanctuary is the Golgotha and we shall discuss it's significance as well.

We will talk about CARS project, and related work.  Turn in those library books that you borrowed from me.

For the symposium on Mar 21st, there are no participants from our class and I did let the concerned people know about it.

BRS # 7 is posted online.  It's not that hard this time.

For our Easter Treat, I have arranged transportation - a van with a driver to show up at Church campus by 2:30 PM on March 20th.  Let's meet at Church and go from there.  The cost per head is working out at $17.75, and I shall be collecting your contributions starting tomorrow.

Talent competition is slated for Saturday, April 10th.  So far, I have not had any participants from our class.  I   will be out of town on that day.  If you are participating, do let me know and I shall pass your name(s) to those organizers.  Good Luck in advance to those participating.

BRS # 7

After a short gap, yesterday evening I received BRS # 7 electronically in mail.

Click here to download it.  It seems to be a really simple one - hardly took me less than 10 minutes to answer everything.

I hope this is the last one for this academic year, unless you want to be BRSing more.

BRS # 3 - status

BRS # 3 answers started coming in.

For those who are on the electronic track, I received two of them so far.  The first one arrived from Sherine Sam, followed by Anabella Jacks (the two of you will get a small reward in class tomorrow for turning in your BRS this early).  I admit, there were some questions that I did not know on top of my head and could not answer them without looking into the Bible.  I will not tell u which ones, unless you asks me :-)

For those of you who turn in the traditional way, I look forward for it tomorrow.  Please don't give me excuses such as, "It's in the car."  I expect you to bring it to the class when you arrive.

I have checked the previous BRS answers.  All of you are doing well so far.  If you did not hear from me on the BRS (some of you did), then you scored a 100.

If there are few questions for which you cannot find answers, let's make a list of them and discuss it in class.

Class on Oct 18

We had another full house today.  I was going bit fast today since we missed last week.

This would conclude our discussion on Love.  I think you learned quite a bit about love and hopefully will remember what you learned in class.  Apply that in your practical life, and you will find peace and joy.  My only objective is to make you happy.

We wished Anabella Jacks happy birthday, and let's complete scribbling on her card.  She can keep it with her for later review, whenever she wants to travel down the memory lane.

Sherlyne Sam has typed up an electronic copy of BRS # 3.  Here is the link to download it.  Thank you Sherlyne; I am thinking of giving you extra credit for this additional work you have undertaken. All of you - can you try turning them in by next Sunday?

For the general session, I got to spend some time with you students.  All of you seem to be attentive - Nice.

Oct 11

We did not have a class yesterday.  Just like we anticipated, you had an extended general session and the 'parent - teacher meeting' went on for quite some time.

I observed almost all parents from our class attend the meeting - it's a good sign.  The 80% rule that we talked about in the class is now 'out of the window'.  Various other things were discussed, which we'll talk in our next class.

What about those of you who have not yet turned in your BRS # 2?  Did anyone bring in and not turn in - let me know.

BRS # 2 Due

Just a reminder for those who have not yet turned in your BRS # 2.

The due date for BRS # 2 is next Sunday, October 11th.  If you need any help, feel free to ask.

Clarification on BRS

I got a question from our Alex relating to BRS.  The question is below:

According to Jacob, whose blessing is stronger than the blessings of stable mountains and everlasting hills? To whom Jacob gave that blessing?

Has anybody solved this yet?  If so, can you post a response here?  I am away from my desk and thought of checking with the rest of the class first. Let's discuss in the class tomorrow.

I am curious if anybody else also has the similar question.  Would appreciate any response posted by anyone.
