Solomon's Prayer

Here is King Solomon’s Prayer for Wisdom:

[1] O God of my fathers, and Lord of mercy, who hast made all things with thy word,
[2] And ordained man through thy wisdom, that he should have dominion over the creatures which thou hast made,
[3] And order the world according to equity and righteousness, and execute judgment with an upright heart:
[4] Give me wisdom, that sitteth by thy throne; and reject me not from among thy children:
[5] For I thy servant and son of thine handmaid am a feeble person, and of a short time, and too young for the understanding of judgment and laws.

So True

I always try to embarrass my friends by walking like this...

Dancing like this...

Laughing like this...

Being creepy like this...

Or... when we're in class and they're trying to do a presentation, I'm at the back like...

Click here if you want to see more like this. There are few good ones out there.

Switched Bible

In order to read all the 7 books of wisdom, I got myself a Bible which contained those books - The New Oxford Annotated Bible - 3rd Edition. I carry it with me wherever I go and read whenever I find a free moment. Started reading the book, 'The Wisdom of Solomon."  Before opening the Bible every time, I pray to the Holy Spirit to give me an understanding mind to digest all that I am reading and learning during this pilgrimage.

Those who earnestly seek heavenly wisdom, will never complain that they have lost their labour; and the freeness of the gift does not do away the necessity of our diligence, John 6:27

Let them seek, and they shall find it; let them ask, and it shall be given them. Observe who are thus favored. They are the righteous, on whom the image of God is renewed, which consists in righteousness. If we depend upon God, and seek to him for wisdom, he will enable us to keep the paths of judgment. (Proverbs 2:10-22)

All throughout our Bible, it speaks about acquiring wisdom. It's the elephant in the room - cannot hide it from those who see with their eyes.  Wisdom is such a precious thing that people seldom wanted to share with others.  Hence, it was omitted out during the time of compilation. But the good news is that, wisdom is available out there for those who seek it so desperately.

Now, isn't that a wonderful news?

Manage your time well

”Be careful, then, how you live—not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time.” - Ephesians 5:15-16a

The other day, my son came back from school and said to me, "Dada, one of my friends' dad wants him to work 25 hours a waking up early."

All of us, we struggle with making the most of your time, feeling as if there’s just not enough time in each day.   Well, we have to remember we all have the same amount of time: one hundred sixty-eight hours a week, twenty-four hours a day. The key is making the most of our time. This is a spiritual, as well as practical, issue.

Scripture says, “Be careful, then, how you live, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time.” So how do you do that? List the top three to five priorities of your life. This list will help you prioritize how you spend your time.

Concentrate on what’s most important, and major on the majors. As you approach each day, write down the most important thing you need to do, commit to do it, then go to the second most important thing and do it. Do not allow distractions in between.

Effective time management is an important discipline to have, in order to live the successful life. So let's get with it before our time runs out in this short life span.

The Lord - my Shepherd

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
Trust Christ as your good shepherd. He promises to meet your needs.

"He makes me lie down in green pastures,"
He gives us rest and spiritual nourishment.

"He leads me beside the still waters."
He calms our troubled souls.

"He restores my soul;"
He renews our spirit when we spend time with Him.

"He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake,"
His Word teaches us how to live right.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;"
He overcomes our fears, even of death.

"For you are with me, Your rod and staff they comfort me."
He's always with us to discipline and encourage. This makes us feel secure.

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies,"
He gives us strength with those who aren't for us.

"You anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows."
He gives us an abundance of blessings.

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,"
Daily, He reminds us of His love and forgiveness.

"And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
He provides us eternal, abundant life.

If you are discouraged with the world and the difficulties you face; if you feel like a sheep without a shepherd, Jesus wants to be your good Shepherd. Every day is better when you know "The Lord is my Shepherd."

Back Home

I had been to Phily to attend a 'Sneak Preview' of a new product that's being launched by SAP.  Very few individuals were handpicked for this event.  I attended the overview/Introduction part until lunch time and gathered the scoop about what it's all about. I now have enough ammunition to talk about this product in front of an audience.  The remainder of the training it is all about it's details - I stayed at the high level and let my team members digest all the nut and bolt details.  Took an evening flight and got back home for dinner.

One new member Abhijit Shaw stared on my team today - he's based out of NJ and is single.  Abhijit will be working in my team as a Senior SAP Consultant along with others.  If I had stayed in Phily till Fri, I would've gone and said hello to him.  From tomorrow on, my job is to give work to Abhijit.

Love - qualities

Love is strong and love is great
an endless search for a perfect mate

Love is hard and love is deep
unspoken words and promises to keep

Love is good and love is blind
learning and laughing with an open mind

Love is the future and love is the past
sowing the seeds and children at last

Love is kind and love is giving
sharing souls and faithful living

Love is hurt and love is pain
too much to lose and everything to gain

Love is sweet and love is sincere
we smile, frown and shed a tear

Love is strange and love reaches
from the heartland to the mighty beaches

Love is grand and love is real
sweet emotions with kisses to steal

Love is danger and love is bright
huddling close ’til our bodies unite

Love is tight and love is tragic
together as one and always magic.

Arrived into King of Prussia, PA  at my hotel room - my flight was delayed due to weather.  Am trying to get some sleep before I head out.

Got an upgrade to 1st class (by surprise) and hence I could get some sleep on the flight.

Had a wonderful day!

Life as a Voyage

We convince ourselves that life will be better once we are married, have a baby, then another. Then we get frustrated because our children are not old enough, and that all will be well when they are older. Then we are frustrated because they reach adolescence and we must deal with them. Surely we’ll be happier when they grow out of the teen years.

We tell ourselves our life will be better when our spouse gets his/her act together, when we have a nicer car, when we can take a vacation, when we finally retire. The truth is that there is no better time to be happy than right now.

If not, then when?

Our life will always be full of challenges. It is better to admit as much and to decide to be happy in spite of it all.

For the longest time, it seemed that life was about to start.

Real life.

But there was always some obstacle along the way, an ordeal to get through, some work to be finished, some time to be given, a bill to be paid. Then life would start.

I finally came to understand that those obstacles were life.

That point of view helped me see that there isn’t any road to happiness.

Happiness IS the road.

So, let's enjoy every moment.

Let's stop waiting for school to end, for a return to school, to lose ten pounds, to gain ten ounds, for work to begin, to get married, for Friday evening, for Sunday morning, waiting for a new car, for your mortgage to be paid off, for spring, for summer, for fall, for winter, for the first or the fifteenth of the month, for your song to be played on the radio, to die, to be reborn… before deciding to be happy.

Happiness is a voyage, not a destination.

There is no better time to be happy than… NOW!

Let's live and enjoy this very moment.

We spend so much time and resources to look attractive, and to impress others.  At the same time, we have an inner self - which we need to take care of as well.  Only God and those who know us extremely well can see our  inside.

God looks at our heart and our spirit. When Good looks at our inner self, what does He see within us? Is it ugly, or is it good? God offers Jesus Christ to cleanse and beautify our souls - from the inside out.

Yes - outside appearance Outward appearance is important, but unless there is something good inside, it’s merely a covering for ugliness.

White signifies purity - just like wearing white outside, we shall preserve our inner self to be pure as well.

Good Luck to everyone participating in talent competition 2012.
